The hearing made by the Secretary of State, Antony Blinklen, before congressmen and senators confirms that the debacle of the chaotic exit of the United States forces from Afghanistan, by order of President Joe Biden, has been one of the saddest pages in the United States history. Biden and General Milley believed that the Afghan government forces had the capacity to stand up to the Taliban, but they were flatly wrong.
Now, Biden and Blinken argue that they could maintain relations with the Taliban, forgetting that they are another face of Islamic terrorism. The Taliban is a terrorist movement that supports Al Qaeda and that will allow Afghanistan to once again become a sanctuary for terrorism. And Qatar, which has been the Arab country that has supported the Taliban from the beginning, also bears a good deal of responsibility for the triumph of the Taliban, although it appears as a simple mediator between them and the United States.
