THE HERO

An 11-year-old Ukrainian boy walked 600 miles alone from his town of Zaporizhzhia, savagely bombed by Russian forces, and the Slovakian border. He was carrying only a plastic bag with his passport and his mother had written on his hand the telephone number of some relatives living in Slovakia.

His mother couldn't come with him because he has to take care of her paralyzed mother ptopia. The social services of this country welcomed the child as a hero. They called his mother to tell her that he was safe, and to tell his relatives that they would come pick him up to take him to Bratislava, where they live.

This is the face of a hero, while the Russian military does not stop bombing Ukraine, killing hundreds of civilians. On Sunday, when the boy was on his way to the border, a mother and her two children died on a highway while trying to save themselves. The Russians machine-gunned them. The world will never be able to forget so many crimes.
