LEBANON AND ISRAEL SIGNED AGREEMENT

Lebanon to Israel signed this Thursday the agreement that establishes its maritime border and allows the exploitation, separately, of the gas fields listed in that geographical space.

Israel believes that the agreement means that Lebanon recognizes it as a sovereign state, as other Arab countries have done. But the Lebanese president, Michel Aoun, has reiterated that the agreement is of an economic nature and has no political repercussions. Beyrouth will not recognize Israel.

Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah movement, has stated on his behalf that the agreement does not constitute recognition of the Jewish state.

Currently, the Arab countries that maintain relations with Israel are: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

As several international experts have pointed out, the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is a great defender of the Palestinian people and his rights to establish an independent state with its capital in eastern Al Qods. The Saudi plan for peace with Israel includes withdrawal from the occupied territories and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
