QATAR SELLS LNG TO CHINA AND GERMANY

Qatar has formalized two large liquefied natural gas (LNG) contracts with China and Germany, which confirms the importance of the supplies of this important energy to countries that need it. The agreement with China corresponds to 27 years of supply through methane tankers. The gas will be regasified at port facilities in China,

The agreement with Germany corresponds to the annual shipment of 2 million tons of LNG that will be regasified at the new terminal in Brunsbüttel, which will be completed by the end of this year. The shipments of methane tankers are planned from 2026 when all the LNG treatment facilities are in operation. In principle, the agreement to export this energy will be for 15 years, which may later be of greater scope.

The Qatari Minister of Energy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, has highlighted the important role that Qatar has in the export of energy, when a crisis in the sector continues due to the conflict in Ukraine and the spread of the phenomenon of inflation.
