ISRAEL STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE IN ASIA

Israel has established its military presence in Western Asia, following the agreement recently signed with Azerbaijan, according to sources quoted by the Israeli television channel 124 news.

The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, but it is now that Baku has announced that it will open its first embassy in Tel Aviv. Israel, on the other hand, will be able to monitor Iran, its great enemy, from the Azari border.

Israel is one of the main arms suppliers and advisers to Baku, and thus played an important role during the conflicts with Armenia over Nagorno-Karabagh.

Nearly a million refugees from this self-proclaimed state of the Caucasus have settled in Azarid territory and Baku, although it welcomes them, does not rule out a third armed conflict with Yerevan.

Russia, on the other hand, plays a difficult game in this conflict between Baki and Yerevan. On the one hand, it has a defense agreement with Armenia, but it has not supported it militarily so as not to compromise with Azerbaijan, which also continues to be an ally.

This framework has made it easier for Israel to be present in this scenario, which allows it in one way or another to carry out espionage work on Iran from the Azari border.

Azari President Ilham Aliyev maintains contentious relations with Tehran, having accused the neighboring country of plotting to "export" an Islamic republic to Iran. Tehran has denied this without denying that its relations with Baku remain "conflictive".

Israel has placed its pawns in the six Arab countries that have established relations with the Jewish state. Baku is not an Arab state, but it is of indisputable importance in Western Asia.

In Tehran it continues to be pointed out that a part of Azerbaijan (Ardabil province and parts of the Azari east and west) belonged to Iran until the collapse of the Soviet Union. Then the independent Azarid state was founded. The name of Azerbaijan belonged to Persia in the past.

Since Baku established relations with Israel, the "ayatollahs" regime came into conflict with the neighboring country, considering that its agreements with the Jewish state represented a potential danger for Iran. Added to this is the fact that the United States has confirmed that Israel's intelligence services have established several posts on the Azarñi border with Iran.

The Israeli television channel 124 last week presented a documentary on Israel's presence in Azerbaijan, assuring that Tel Aviv would support Baku militarily in the event of an Iranian "aggression". The United States also affirms that the Azari country does not have sufficient military capacity to face Iran, which justifies Israel's support.
