VIOLENCE WILL NOT SOLVE THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS

It is clear that acts of violence are not going to solve the crisis between Israelis and Palestinians. A political solution must be sought that is articulated in the creation of an independent Palestinian State with its capital in eastern Al Qods. Meanwhile, it must also be understood that in the face of the attacks perpetrated by the Israeli armed forces in Gaza and the West Bank, some Palestinian radicals promote acts of revenge.

We are not saying that these acts of revenge must be approved, such as the attack that occurred on Friday in Tel Aviv where one person died and six others were injured. Accept it NOT in any way; but understanding the frustration and hatred of radical Palestinian groups is also necessary.

Many of the attacks, if not all, occur in response to attacks by Israel, such as the one that occurred a few days ago on the esplanade of the Al Quds mosque, one of the holiest places in Islam.

It is Israel that first stirs up hatred. The Israeli settlers are the first to commit aggressions against the Palestinians who are on their land and see themselves robbed of it. This is the reality. We must lament the victims that occur in Israel, but we must also lament and condemn the deaths of Palestinians, the arrests of what Israel calls "terrorists"; the imprisonments; the legalization of new settlements in the West Bank, in violation of United Nations resolutions.

Israel practices an "apartheid" policy in the territories it illegally occupies. This needs to be recognized by the Arab governments that have recognized the Jewish state in the belief that this could reduce tension and lead Israel to respect the human rights of the Palestinian people. Currently, Israel does the opposite.
