ISRAEL TRAMPS ON HUMAN RIGHTS
The latest raid by the Israeli armed forces on Jenin, in the occupied territories, demonstrates the abject way the Jewish state treats human rights when it comes to the Palestinian people.
Seventeen deaths is the known balance of this military operation, which according to the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, will be repeated "if necessary."
Israel has given itself one of the most reactionary governments in its history, formed by the political and religious extreme right. A coalition in which voices are even raised to annex the entire West Bank or expel the Palestinians so that no trace of them remains on what used to be their lands.
Violence has never been the way to resolve a conflict; but in the face of the attacks by the Jewish army, the fact that violence also arises on the Palestinian side, in the ranks of the most radical, is something that, even if it is criticized, it is necessary to understand why violence responds to violence. "If you kill my father, don't expect me to kiss your hand," says Ahmed, one of the young residents of Jenin.
It is a vicious circle. The Oslo agreements are a mere memory that could not be realized. Isaac Rabin and Yasser Arafat are no longer of this life.
