FINALLY GOOD NEWS
Thanks to the joint mediation of Qatar and Egypt, half a hundred hostages (women and children) will be released by the radical group, Hamas, following the agreement reached with Israel. There will be a 4-day humanitarian pause starting this Thursday, when the releases will begin. The Jewish state agrees to release 150 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children.
This is the announcement of the end of the war. Certainly not. Netanyahu has assured that the war will continue until two main objectives are met. The release of all the hostages, and the “elimination” of Hamas.
The second objective is an illusion maintained by the extremist and racist government of Tel Aviv. Hamas is an organization deeply rooted in the Palestinian population of Gaza. It is true that on October 7 he committed an act of a terrorist nature, but he has not lost his popularity, especially among the youth of the enclave and in the West Bank.
Qatar has once again been the key to the completion of this agreement, which is, as we say, good news. The agreement established between the two warring parties includes the entry into Gaza of humanitarian aid: water; medicines; fuel, food and other necessities.
The hospitals in the strip are still without power to work, in addition to being under siege by the Jewish armed forces. Many premature children have died because the incubators do not work. About 32 premature babies were able to be transferred to Egypt and will thus be able to save their lives.
Four five days of humanitarian pause does not mean that Israel's genocidal action will stop, but it is true that a window of hope is opening. The Palestinian population of Gaza has suffered true carnage. More than 11,000 civilians lost their lives in the bombings. And up to 48 Palestinian war correspondents died in Gaza and on the Lebanese border.
There have been reports of Israeli attacks near the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. At least nine Palestinians have been killed and several injured in an Israeli air raid on Nuseirat refugee camp. Several people were also killed in Israeli attack in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
Arab countries, particularly those that have recognized Israel, must now make every effort to achieve a ceasefire; which would allow us to take a big step towards the end of this bloody war. A war that has shown that Israel does not mind going as far as genocide.
