ISRAEL AND THE EUROPEAN GUILT COMPLEX

Despite the horrors that the Israeli armed forces continue to commit in Gaza, the Zionist state continues to benefit in Europe from closed-eyed support that erroneously denotes a guilt complex.

This Friday, we witnessed a lively discussion on German television between the German Chancellor, Olof Scholz, and the President of Turkey, Racip`Erdogan. As could not be expected, the German leader argued that Israel had the right to defend itself (no one criticizes him) overlooking the war crimes committed in Gaza. Everything is as an act of contrition for the past Holocaust. Nothing less could be expected.

Not a word on Scholz's lips about the 4,700 Palestinian children killed in the bombings; Not a word about the martyrdom of preventing water, electricity and fuel from reaching the enclave. There is an evident desire on the part of Israel to expel its more than 2 million inhabitants.

Erdogan once again became a spokesperson for the serious accusations against the Jewish state, made not only in the Arab world but also in international organizations, starting with the United Nations. Prime Minister Netanyahu could be expected to implement the latest Security Council resolution. But he has not done so and, furthermore, he has now ordered the civilian population sheltered in the north of the enclave to abandon it further to the south.

This reminds us of 1948, when the newly created Israel expelled 700,000 Palestinians from their lands. Netanyahu and his ultra government want Gaza to be emptied of its inhabitants and run by their paid puppets. Biden is against this, but the US president has accustomed us to criticizing Israel's atrocities with closed lips. Netanyahu dominates him and boasts about it.

Erdogan, on the other hand, is not silent. Israel, he states with a harsh voice, is a terrorist state, and in the Jewish holy book of the Torah, there is no phrase that justifies the murder of children, women and the elderly. The voice of the Ottoman leader does have wide echoes in the world.

In this war, as could also be expected, Israel makes massive use of propaganda: Al-Shifa hospital is a Hamas hideout; the terrorists do not respect it; and if fuel is not allowed in it is because Hamas will use it to make explosives.

How quickly Israel has copied Goebbels! And what commons Israel and the United States appear. Fight terror with a harder, more tentacular terror; This is what continues to exist in Gaza and we must not keep our eyes in the back. A lesson in humility and professional neutrality would be de rigueur in the Western press. Unfortunately, the opposite happens.
