MOROCCO JOINS OTHER ARABS CONDEMNING CRIMES OF ISRAEL IN GAZA
Political observers who were wondering about Morocco's position in the Gaza war have received a response from the monarch, Mohamed VI, in which he firmly condemns Israel's war crimes in the Palestinian strip.
In his speech, read by the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, at the Ryad summit, the sovereign called for “Provoking an urgent and concrete de-escalation, putting an end to military aggression, to achieve a lasting and verifiable ceasefire.” .
He also noted the need to “Project a political perspective for the Palestinian issue that can revive the two-state solution, as agreed upon by the international community,” adding:
“We are facing an unprecedented crisis, exacerbated by Israel's persistence in its flagrant aggression against unarmed civilians, and complicated, furthermore, by the silence of the international community, in a context of indifference of the powers that act "with respect to the human tragedy suffered by the population of the Gaza Strip". That is why it is up to the international community and "all of us to work so that the future of the region and that of its populations and its children is not mortgaged by the supporters of superiority."
He finally stressed that “Although wise voices have been raised to call for a reduction in tensions and calm, Israeli artillery and missiles continue to target unarmed civilians, including children, women and the elderly. Neither the places of worship, nor the hospitals, nor the fields, totally or partially destroyed, were saved.”
This speech by the King of Morocco confirms that the country firmly supports the position of the Arab and Muslim world, which understands that Israel has gone from war crimes to genocide of the Palestinian population of Gaza.
