THE HORROR OF A GENOCIDE

That Israel practices violence that, during the Gaza war, borders on terrorism, we knew since the savage bombings on the enclave began, in response to the act, also terrorist, of the radical group Hamas. But what we could not imagine is that this violence would become a clear genocide.

And that's where we are. The lack of electricity has forced Gaza hospitals to be unable to use incubators. The photo published by the Arab newspapers. It shows several babies who have died, lacking care due to the power outage.

This photo comes from the incubator service of Al Shifa Hospital. Premature babies have died as a result of a clear violation of international laws by the Hebrew state.
Since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the cutting of water, electricity and food, we could not ignore that an unsustainable situation would be experienced in the Palestinian enclave. Antonio Guterres, the secretary general of the United Nations, said it several times, calling on Israel not to carry out collective punishment.

But the demands have been of no use, not only from Guterres; but from the president, Biden; of European leaders and international institutions such as the Arab League; the organization of the Islamic conference, and even the 19 humanitarian agencies that the UN has. Netanyahu continues to be inflexible. It is not surprising that now, this character who seems to have forgotten the Holocaust, is considered a genocide.

In the psychedelic “dialogue” between Biden and Netanyahu, it is the latter who imposes his line of action. The Jewish leader, although he does not say it, despises the American president; He considers him an old man with no will to maintain his own line. He limits himself, it is true, to saying "ok" to what the other decides... and he congratulates himself for having obtained, at least, four hours a day of break so that the Palestinians and foreigners who remain in Gaza-capital, can go to foot or ambulance to the south; be it Khan Yunes or the Rafah border.

The death of children is, probably, the most terrifying image of this war where blood does not stop gushing out from a population martyred to an unimaginable extent. At this point, the Israeli armed forces proclaim that they could evacuate the children. Excellent promise when there are several thousand child corpses.

Gazawi civilians are thirsty; They are hungry; They are devoid of everything. Under this background, how to share Israel's response to Hamas attacks? In all wars there are international laws whose violation is condemned with the greatest force. The use of disproportionate violence is part of these violations. It is not necessary to insist on it.

The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom, has described the death of premature babies as a humanitarian disaster; He says he looks horrified. We all share the horror of a genocide.
