CONDEMNING ISRAEL IS NOT ANTI-SEMITISM

For the first time since its creation in 1948, Israel is being criticized and condemned in a wide range of countries for its disproportionate response to the terrorist attack committed by Hamas on October 7, in which 1,200 people were murdered and others taken prisoner. 220.

The response of the extremist government, Netanyahu, to these condemnations is to accuse their authors of anti-Semitism. Every time the Hebrew state is subjected to criticism, it always responds with the hackneyed argument of the enemies of the Semitic peoples.

The entire world is fed up with the willingness of Jewish leaders to repeat the same absolutely invalid argument over and over again, because what is currently being condemned is Israel's genocide and war crimes in Gaza.

Was it anti-Semitism to condemn the murder of the 12-year-old Palestinian boy, Mohamed Al-Durra, on September 30, 2002, when he was taking refuge in the arms of his father in the midst of a firefight by Israeli forces during the second Intifadah? Israel then said it was “a stray bullet.”

Was it anti-Semitism to condemn the murder of the American-Palestinian journalist, Siheen Abu Akleh, on May 11, 2022 while she was covering the intervention of the Jewish army in the Jenin refugee camp? A sniper shot him in the head, in a part that was not protected by the case. Siheen was wearing a bulletproof vest and the words “Press” were clearly visible. Israel knows the author, but he was neither prosecuted nor convicted.

Was the murder of the 16-year-old girl, Jana Majdi Zakarneh, on December 12, 2022, when she was observing from the roof of her house an incursion by Tsahal in the aforementioned Jenin?, anti-Semitism. This time Israel preferred not to use the stray bullet argument and admitted that Jana died “from an unintentional gunshot,” regretting her death. Her grandfather confirmed that the young woman received two bullets in her face; one on her neck and one on her back. It wasn't a single shot.

And so we could cite a very long list of murders in which Tsahal and the Mossad were involved. Who remembers the murders of Palestinian leaders in Paris, Tunisia and other places?

Israel clearly disregards the lives of Palestinian civilians and repeatedly violates the laws of war and internationally recognized human rights. Israel, it is evident, has the right to exist, but that right also corresponds to Palestine, while Netanyahu and his government refuse to admit the existence of an independent Palestinian state.

These days, Western governments and leaders have warned Netanyahu not to commit a new war crime in Rafah, where half of the 2 million civilians who inhabit the Gaza enclave are sheltered. There is an international cry to prevent this disaster from happening, and this has nothing to do with anti-Semitism.

But Israel resorts again and again to its propaganda about Semitism; He uses it incessantly and, it must be admitted, makes the Western news media receptive to it. This is a school case that has an impact among analysts of the Middle Eastern conflict. A country that gives itself the right not to respect international laws, whether it comes from the United Nations or anywhere else. Ask Antonio Guterres
