ISRAEL ON THE “LIST OF SHAME”
The United Nations has included Israel on the so-called “List of Shame” which refers to countries that repeatedly violate human rights and, in particular, cause the death of large numbers of innocent children.
The Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, informed the Security Council of this decision, highlighting the death of thousands of children in Gaza due to Israeli bombings, a fact verified by independent journalists.
Once again, Israel proves not only to be a genocidal state, but also a continuous violator of all condemnatory resolutions of international organizations. Therefore it is legitimate to affirm that the Jewish state acts like the ancient corsairs, ignoring all laws.
Guterres and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu have clashed over the legitimacy of the condemnatory resolutions. The Jewish leader has even said that he does not respect the UN Charter. His ambassador to this organization publicly tore up a copy of the Charter, throwing it on the floor during a Council meeting.
In the midst of this chaos, optimistic news: Israeli forces and intelligence services managed to rescue four hostages who were in the hands of Hamas. This group is considered a terrorist movement by the United States and the European Union. Hamas claims that at least 200 Palestinians died during the confrontation that led to the release of the hostages.
Hamas, which Turkish President Recip Erdogan calls “fighters for the freedom of its people,” would still have between 80 and 100 hostages in its possession, according to analysts' calculations. The Jewish Prime Minister, Netanyahu, has chosen the party of war and rejected the peace plan of the American president, Joe Biden, because he considers it “inapplicable.”
The Gaza war has for the first time opened a series of breaches between Israel and the United States. The White House continues to support the Jewish state, but also criticizes it for rejecting an opportunity to reach a ceasefire that would open the way to an end to this bloody war, in which at least 38,000 Palestinians have died, a third of the which were women and children.
Netanyahu would have been able to rescue all the hostages if he accepted the conditions that Hamas has outlined through its mediators, Qatar and Egypt: A humanitarian pause of about six weeks followed by negotiations for a permanent ceasefire.
