100 DEAD IN ISRAELI STRIKES IN LEBANON
We have said in recent days that the possibility of a second war in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah seemed close. This is confirmed by the bombing carried out today Monday by the Israeli air force in several Lebanese towns, with an impressive toll of 100 dead and 400 wounded.
Some 300 sites where Hezbollah fighters are believed to be have been attacked, according to a spokesman for the IDF, the Hebrew armed forces. The highest-ranking Jewish military officer, General Herzi Alevi, approved this intervention, the government in Tel Aviv said. There is no doubt that these attacks are a major escalation in this war. The language of war remains the only one spoken by Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government.
And it also happens that these strikes follow a statement by US President Joe Biden, in which he says that he asked Netanyahu not to have a military escalation in the land of the cedars. As usual, Netanyahu did not pay the slightest attention.
In the Bekaa Valley, the strikes will continue in the coming days, said another of the IDF spokesmen. Israel has also used drones in these operations that try to dismantle Hezbollah and eliminate its leaders.
The most recent has been the elimination of Ibrahim Aqil, head of an elite military unit of the Lebanese radical movement. He died last Friday in Beirut. Previously, Fuad Shukr, the commander in chief of the military wing of that movement, lost his life at the hands of the Mossad. Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said in a statement cited by state media that children, women and medics were among the victims of the air attacks.
As can be seen, we are witnessing Israel's attempt to weaken Hezbollah as much as possible, and in the same vein, operations continue to be carried out in Gaza to destroy Hamas. These are Netanyahu's two objectives, which the military put into practice using its vast resources. Since there is no aviation in either radical movement, Tasahal has the skies free to torment both Palestinians and Lebanese.
Beirut has already denounced this violation of its borders to the United Nations, although the Security Council has not yet met in this case. Politicians in the region are seeing that Israel is showing itself to be arrogant, knowing that it has the largest military and intelligence force in the region. The Mossad has a very dark past behind it.
