THEIR MISSION IS TO KILL
In each regiment of the “Tsahal”, the Israeli armed forces, there is a small group of snipers whose mission is to kill the known enemy, or those considered to be in a dangerous position. They must always shoot at the head, because the shot is always fatal. These soldiers are very well trained and adequately equipped.
Palestinian-American journalist Shiren Abu Akleh was killed by a shot to the head in May 2022 when she was reporting on a clash in the city of Jenin (West Bank); and Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi, a graduate of the University of Washington, died at the beginning of this month when she was participating in a demonstration in favor of the Palestinians. Turkish President Erdogan accused Israel of “having hatefully murdered one of our daughters”.
In both cases, as American citizens, President Joe Biden demanded that Netanyahu report the two deaths by Israeli forces. The Prime Minister assured that an investigation was underway, but as always, after a few weeks he did not mention the case again. Crimes without investigation or culprits, a specialty of the Jewish state.
The snipers use very advanced weapons such as the long-range Barak super rifle, as well as rifles of the same range: Barret; McMillan and IWI-Dan. They are precision rifles with 62X51 calibers, as usual for NATO. Of the nearly 44,000 Palestinian deaths since October 8, there are no reliable figures on those who died from sniper fire.
In Gaza, Palestinian journalists know that their status as reporters does not protect them at all. Of the 75 deaths (the Palestinian Authority figures), a significant proportion are believed to have been shot by snipers.
“Tsahal” said in a statement that “in no case were journalists deliberately shot at.” Shiren’s death proves the opposite. Medical personnel still working in Gaza say they have witnessed the presence of snipers during attacks by Jewish forces on schools and hospitals.
“We started seeing a series of children, preteens mostly, who’d been shot in the head. They’d go on to slowly die, only to be replaced by new victims who’d also been shot in the head, and who would also go on to slowly die,” wrote visiting U.S. doctors Mark Perlmutter and Feroze Sidhwa for Politico in July. “
