THE NETANYAHU MACHIAVELO
In one of Israel's most unjustified demands to continue its war in Lebanon, Netanyahu's government appealed to the United Nations on Sunday to withdraw the UNIFIL "blue helmets" because, it said, they are "in harm's way." In other words, IDF threatens to continue firing on the observation posts of this interposition force.
The European Union (EU) Foreign Minister, Josep Borrell, has addressed Netanyahu to point out that he is not the one who orders and commands UNIFIL, since this corresponds exclusively to the UN Security Council. According to Borrell, it is evident that Israel violates international law and commits war crimes both in Gaza and in Lebanon.
Spain has nearly 700 soldiers deployed in Lebanon, under the command of a general, who have not suffered attacks from Jewish forces. Instead, five blue helmets were wounded by the “Tsahal” gunfire, which also attacked UNIFIL observation towers and knocked down the floodlights, to prevent the blue helmets from observing the deployment of Jewish forces.
The Israeli army has claimed that it fired on UNIFIL “because there was a threat”. What threat? This justification is a lie by Netanyahu, and by his generals. Was there a threat when a “Tsahal” military patrol killed three Jewish hostages who had escaped captivity in Gaza and addressed the soldiers with a white flag and shouted: “We are Jews, we are Jews”?
Was there a threat when a Jewish sniper shot dead the well-known Palestinian-American journalist, Sireen Abu Akleh, who was covering a Palestinian demonstration?
Was there a threat when the Israeli military killed the twelve-year-old boy, Mohamed Al-Durrah, on September 30, 2000, protected by his father with his arms?
International opinion is fed up with Israel's lies and distortions to propagate that its wars in Gaza and Lebanon are just, when the United Nations has declared that all these deaths have been "war crimes."
It has been said that Netanyahu is a psychopath who is only interested in war. But in recent days the "Machiavellian and sorcerer" Netanyahu has emerged, trying to get the United States to support him in another war with Iran. President Biden is not interested in this third war appearing, because its consequences would be devastating for the Middle East region.
Netanyahu wants, however, that third war with Tehran to emerge; but the plate is too big for him to consume alone. So he has two options: either deceive Biden, who has called him a liar and a “son of a bitch”; or wait for the US presidential election on November 4, hoping that Donald Trump will be the winner.
When Israel legitimately responded to the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 last year, analysts could not have imagined that the Machiavellian Jewish prime minister would embark on not just one, but three wars: After eliminating Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah, which represents an unquestionable success, Netanyahu, instead of negotiating the release of Jewish captives held by Hamas, has decided to escalate his wars to the maximum that his forces allow.
But entering into a dynamic of direct confrontation with Iran is a dangerous action for the region. Netanyahu knows this, but he wants to appear not only as the man who eliminated Hamas and Hezbollah, but also as the hero capable of ending the regime of the Ayatollahs. Too much ambition for one man.
