ARAB AND MUSLIM LEADERS MEET TO SUPPORT GAZA AND LEBANON

Several leaders of Arab and Muslim countries are meeting today, Monday, in Riyadh to discuss actions that can contribute to joint cooperation in favor of the populations of Gaza and Lebanon, subjected to continuous attacks and bombings by Israeli forces, responsible for genocide in the Palestinian enclave and other war crimes.

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Palestine, along with the secretaries-general of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, aim to initiate immediate international action to halt the war on Gaza and achieve a lasting, comprehensive peace.

Even though Qatar has suspended its mediation between Hamas and Israel, Islamic countries continue to make multiple efforts to end a war unleashed by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, which has already caused more than 43,000 Palestinian victims in Gaza alone. It is therefore important that the entire world be aware of the horror of a conflict in which Israel has reached the limit of genocide in Gaza; internationally condemned.

The ministerial committee formed at the last Arab-Islamic summit has initiated diplomatic efforts with world leaders to secure an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians, and restore essential services in Gaza. The committee members condemned Israel’s violations of international law, including restricting access to water, electricity, and movement.

Violating the provisions of international humanitarian law, Israel has crossed the red line of preventing thousands of Palestinians from having access to at least a minimum of essential food. There are dozens of cases of Palestinian children who have died due to lack of essential nutrition; This is a clear indication of the extent to which the war crimes of Netanyahu and his government can go.

Regardless of the fact that Hamas committed a terrorist act on October 7, 2003, the Palestinian people have the right to have their own independent state within the framework of the so-called “two-state solution” that practically the entire world supports.

This meeting also confirms and demonstrates that it is a lie to believe that Islamic countries have no interest in the suffering of the Palestinian people. On the contrary, there is not only interest but a real desire to support them in all aspects that can contribute to the creation of their own state.

The last meeting of this ministerial group was also held in Riyadh in November 2003, where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the dangerous developments of the war.
