DYING IN GAZA
There are many ways to die in Gaza: In one of the Israeli airstrikes; destroyed by a missile or a gunshot from an armored vehicle; crushed in a building collapse... and even starving to death, especially children. These crimes against humanity are the ones that the International Criminal Court has denounced.
There are unbearable images, such as that of a group of children showing their empty pots near one of the points where frugal food is still distributed; usually a “chorba” soup made with tomatoes, garlic, vegetables and bread. Nothing else can be expected.
The ICC has condemned and demanded the arrest of Prime Minister Netanyahu; former Defense Minister Yael Gallant and Hamas military member Mohamed Deif. The latter was declared dead in one of the attacks by Jewish military forces, north of the Palestinian enclave
Netanyahu has declared “war” on the United Nations. Secretary General Antonio Guterres cannot visit Israel or the West Bank; agencies that distribute aid such as UNRWA cannot deliver food to Palestinian civilians and are banned from other aid. UN schools have been bombed on several occasions.
Starving children are one of the greatest misfortunes that Netanyahu has caused in Gaza and continues to cause. All eyes are on Donald Trump when he takes over the US presidency in January. Will he allow more aid to enter the Palestinian enclave?
In Beirut, 11 people died in an Israeli bombing in the very center of the Lebanese capital, in the early hours of this Saturday and another 23 Lebanese were injured. A missile fired at UN forces on the border has injured four Italian peacekeepers, the national news agency of the country of the cedars reported.
