I SRAEL AND HAMAS RESTORE CONTACTS IN QATAR
Israel and the radical Hamas movement have resumed contact in Doha on Saturday, with Tel Aviv intending to reach an agreement that will allow the release of the Jewish hostages who are still being held. According to authorized sources in the Israeli armed forces, Hamas still has 96 hostages in its power, while more than 30 have died from various causes.
While negotiations resumed, the military branch of Hamas published a video of a hostage, the young woman, Liri Albag, aged 19, who appealed to the government led by Netanyahu, to finally conclude an agreement with the terrorist group that will allow her release.
Netanyahu, although he continues to affirm that he is doing everything possible to achieve the release of the hostages, maintains that his priority is to continue the war until the elimination of Hamas; a difficult objective, even though Israel has killed the main military and political leaders of this extremist movement.
The young Albag was kidnapped on October 7 last year, which represents a captivity of more than a year (457 days) in conditions that can be described as inhumane, in tunnels dug by the fundamentalists.
The hostage's family, Liri Albag, has authorized the publication of the video captures, as stated by the Family Forum, the main association of those close to hostages held on the Gaza Strip.
It is inhumane to still hold 96 people hostage, but Israel could take an important step towards their release if it were to accept a truce with Hamas, and even accept a definitive ceasefire, which is what the extremists are demanding. The lives of the hostages deserve to be reached as soon as possible.
Netanyahu knows this, but he does not want to present himself as a man capable of concessions, but rather as an actor in the total war against terrorism. The young woman was then raised she was abducted while serving in the army at the Nahal Oz base in southern Israel, along with six other female soldiers, five of whom are still being held captive.
The Families Forum said in a statement that this sign of life was “a harsh and undeniable proof of the urgency of bringing the hostages home.”Senior Israeli Negotiator Said Return of Gaza Hostages Not Top Priority Israel prefers to focus on dismantling Hamas, according to a family member of a hostage who spoke with the official last week, before the Israeli delegation departed for Qatar.
There is a broad framework of hypocrisy in the political line that Netanyahu continues to maintain, even if the demonstrations against him do not cease in Tel Aviv and Al Qods.
