TWO WARS - TWO SOLUTIONS?

Before being re-elected for a second presidential term, Donald Trump said that if he returned to the White House, he would end the war in Ukraine “immediately.” A promise that requires the support of Putin, whom he considers a “friend” but not an ally.

It is clear that the solution lies in the concessions that Zelensky must make. The Ukrainian president does not ignore this and tries to lose as little as possible. Ukraine was part of the Russian empire for millennia. It would later join the Soviet Union. This should not be forgotten. The people of Lugansk are as Russian as the Muscovites.

In truth, Zelensky has been deceived in one of his great wishes: that Kiev joins NATO. Jens Stoltenberg, the former Secretary General of the Atlantic organization, promised him, week after week, that Ukraine would join NATO. It was a false promise. Today, the new Secretary General, Mark Rutte, has stated that Kiev is not eligible to join the alliance.

This is one of the points of Trump's plan to please Vladimir Putin. The US Vice President, Vanc, met with Zelensky a few days ago to confirm that there will be no entry into NATO; things are clear.

The Donbass, with a Russian majority, will remain independent of Kiev, and the part of the eastern strip, occupied by Russia, remains to be negotiated, which will also have to be ceded; not in its entirety, of course.

In other words, Zelensky has to swallow the toad of accepting the concessions that Trump demands for Putin's satisfaction.

What will be the Russian dictator's compensations? Firstly, the withdrawal of Russian forces, leaving Ukraine as it was before the invasion. And secondly, recognizing that Crimea belongs to Ukraine, which could allow "some concessions" to some of the former Soviet military bases.

This is what is known so far. Things will be clear when Trump and Putin meet next. There is talk of meeting in Saudi Arabia, which would be a diplomatic change from the traditional Geneva.

Gaza will be more difficult for Trump to establish peace. The advantage is that Netanyahu is a permanent ally of Washington and will not deny what is asked, as long as it does not affect the interests of the Jewish state. What Trump wants is for the second phase of the peace plan negotiated by Qatar and Egypt to begin now, so that the ceasefire continues.

If Israel were to bomb the enclave again, all of Trump's ideas would be sold out. We must continue with the second phase, the release of hostages and see how the reconstruction of the territory can be approached, because the billions of dollars are not at the door. Trump is full of confidence; we will see to what extent he deserves it.
