QATAR 22 AT THE CENTER OF THE WORLD

In a few days the Football World Cup of Nations will begin in Qatar, an event that will be followed by millions and millions of fans of the round ball.

The Arab country will be at the center of the world of football, but in reality it will be the center of the world, given the global importance of this event.

The FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar thanks to the efforts made by His Majesty the Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Qatar has invested billions of dollars in the construction of eight air-conditioned stadiums and the necessary infrastructure for this competition to take place in good conditions.

It is the first time that an Arab country hosts the competition and it marks, as former FIFA leader Sepp Blatter said, that football is a universal discipline that draws the human masses. The opening match will take place on November 20 between the teams of Qatar and Ecuador.

Some voices in the West have been heard to criticize this Cup being held in the Middle East. The Emir has pointed out, in good faith, that "no country that hosts this event has suffered so much criticism for the organization of the competition."

"It is an unprecedented campaign of criticism against my country," said the Emir, Tamim ben Hamad Al-Thani. And it can be said that behind these criticisms there is a problem of racism.

But Qatar22 is going to be held with all the guarantees in terms of security and reception of the thousands of fans who will come to watch the matches.

Speaking to Qatar's Legislative Council, the Emir said that at first they thought some of the criticism could be useful, but quickly "we realized that the criticism persisted, with slander and the system of two weights and two measures".
