W ORLD CUP: SAUDI ARABIA BEATS ARGENTINA Great victory for the Saudi national team at the start of the World Cup in Qatar, beating the Argentina team 1-2, which was considered one of the great favorites in this competition. The Saudis have raised the flag of the Arabs high by obtaining an unexpected victory. This shows that football in the Arab countries has grown and that it can compete with any team, even if it is from the so-called favorite group. Argentina, Brazil and France have been given as the teams that can win the Cup that is held in Qatar. Nobody detracts from them, but you also have to respect the teams that call themselves "small". In soccer there is no small worth.

TOMORROW, THE WORLD CUP Tomorrow the soccer World Cup of Nations will begin in Qatar. A sporting event that will be followed by millions of people on television. A few thousand fans will be lucky enough to see it directly in Qatar. The Emirate government has banned the use of alcohol in stadiums. It is a rule that proceeds from Islamic laws and therefore must be respected. It is not Qatar that has to accept Western customs, but visitors who must obey the religious customs of the Arab world. It is true that some Arab countries allow alcohol (Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, for example) but the believers in those countries do not approve of breaking Islamic customs. In Qatar there is total respect for Islam and the teachings of the Quran. And that is above sport. The great football party begins tomorrow, Sunday.

DUA LIPA IS ALSO ON THE BAD SIDE British singer Dua Lipa has also joined those criticizing Qatar for hosting the soccer World Cup. The Arabs have no need to see or hear this woman who is characterized by going almost naked on stage. Dua LIpa will not intervene in the opening ceremony of the Cup this Sunday, and all the better because we are fed up with these women who talk about human rights and what they want is to take advantage of that criticism to enrich themselves. Human rights exist in the Arab world, within the culture and richness of its civilization. But Dua Lipa doesn't get it.

THE WORLD CUP IN QATAR WILL BE A GREAT SUCCESS Despite the voices that continue to criticize the fact that the World Cup of Nations, of soccer, is held in an Arab country, the event in Qatar, a week before it begins, can be assured that it will be a great success. The former president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, has joined those who criticize this World Cup, and therefore it was he who took the ball out of Qatar. He now accuses Michel Platini, another former UEFA official, of having made the "mistake" of supporting the Arab country's candidacy. This is going to be one of the most beautiful World Cups thanks to the enormous efforts made by Qatar, in particular its Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a defender of sports and his value for understanding between populations.

In a few days the World Cup of Nations will begin, a historic event in that it will be the first time it is held in an Arab country. Qatar has made every effort to ensure that this competition is held in the best possible situation, to the satisfaction of the thousands of fans who will flock to Doha and the other places where air-conditioned stadiums have been built. However, criticism continues in Western countries without taking into account that the social norms that govern life in Qatar must be respected. Arab countries uphold their own morals and visitors from European and other countries must respect those rules. It is intended that Qatar allows degenerative attitudes on a sexual or other level, which are not allowed in the Arab world. Those who come to attend this Cup must respect the country that has hosted it and not try to impose their own moral rules. Respect for Qatar and its citizens is a requirement in these circumstances. That people have fun is normal, but that this hap...

A SUMMIT WITH ABSENCES The 31st Summit of the Arab League, held in Algiers, concluded with a declaration in which all the concerns suffered by the Arab world are once again stated, placing the Palestinian problem first. The absence of several monarchs and heads of state, in particular the Saudi Prince, Mohamed ben Salman; the king of Morocco, Mohamed Vi; King Abdallah of Jordan, and Egyptian President Al Sissi, played down the importance of the meeting, although it did not influence its results. The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, regrets the absence of these leaders. The great problems facing the Arab world were at the center of the discussions. There was no reference, however, in the statement to the countries that have recognized Israel; seven in all. In the Middle East, the relationship of forces continues to favor Israel. The Je...

FIRST DAY OF THE ARAB SUMMIT SUPPORT PALESTINIANS Algerian president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called on Tuesday for the creation of an Arab liaison and coordination committee in support of the Palestinian cause, stressing Algeria's availability to submit this vital claim to the United Nations to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly for the purpose of granting the Palestinian State full membership in the United Nations. In a speech delivered after Tunisia handed over the presidency of the Arab Summit to Algeria, Tebboune hoped that this summit would enable the creation of an Arab liaison and coordination committee in support of the Palestinian cause. "Algeria is fully prepared to submit this vital demand to the United Nations to convene an extraordinary General Assembly, for the purpose of granting the Palestinian State full membership in the United Nations", continued. According to President Tebboune, this de...

ARAB SUMMIT IN ALGIERS The summit of the Arab League begins today in Algiers without the participation of several monarchs and heads of state, including the Saudi Prince, Mohamed Ben Salman; the king of Jordan, Abdallah; the king of Morocco, Mohamed VI and the Egyptian president, Al Sissi. Algeria has wanted this summit to mark the unity and reconciliation of all the Arab leaders, but their differences have aborted this wish of the Algerian leaders. Algeria and Morocco had a chance to reconcile. It was said that such was the will of Mohamed VI, but in the end this purpose has collapsed. Divisions among the Arabs worsened when four countries (the Emirates, Morocco, Sudan, and Bahrain) joined Egypt, Jordan, and Mauritania in establishing relations with the Jewish state. For the Palestinian leaders, present in Algiers, this recogni...
