FIRST DAY OF THE ARAB SUMMIT SUPPORT PALESTINIANS
Algerian president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called on Tuesday for the creation of an Arab liaison and coordination committee in support of the Palestinian cause, stressing Algeria's availability to submit this vital claim to the United Nations to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly for the purpose of granting the Palestinian State full membership in the United Nations.
In a speech delivered after Tunisia handed over the presidency of the Arab Summit to Algeria, Tebboune hoped that this summit would enable the creation of an Arab liaison and coordination committee in support of the Palestinian cause.
"Algeria is fully prepared to submit this vital demand to the United Nations to convene an extraordinary General Assembly, for the purpose of granting the Palestinian State full membership in the United Nations", continued.
According to President Tebboune, this demand comes "in the context of respecting our Arab duty vis-à-vis the Palestinian cause, the beating heart of the Arab nation".
