TOMORROW, THE WORLD CUP

Tomorrow the soccer World Cup of Nations will begin in Qatar. A sporting event that will be followed by millions of people on television. A few thousand fans will be lucky enough to see it directly in Qatar.

The Emirate government has banned the use of alcohol in stadiums. It is a rule that proceeds from Islamic laws and therefore must be respected. It is not Qatar that has to accept Western customs, but visitors who must obey the religious customs of the Arab world.

It is true that some Arab countries allow alcohol (Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, for example) but the believers in those countries do not approve of breaking Islamic customs.

In Qatar there is total respect for Islam and the teachings of the Quran. And that is above sport.

The great football party begins tomorrow, Sunday.
