BLINKEN: PROMISES AND FEW RESULTS

The US Secretary of State has made a new tour of the Middle East, visiting Cairo, Tel Aviv and Ramallah. A tour that, other previous ones, has only given good words, without any concrete result.

Antony Blinken maintains that the United States wants Israel and Palestine to be two states that coexist peacefully, but the main problem is that Israel, now with a radical and religious right-wing government led by Netanyahu, is not interested in the Palestinians having their own state.

The "new concept of peace" that Netanyahu refers to has to do with the agreements that Israel has established with six Arab countries, but the Jewish leader seems to forget that these agreements were signed between states, while the Palestinians continue to be a people. harassed by Israel and without having the status of an independent country...

The Biden administration has advocated for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but there has been very little movement and seemingly few active efforts toward that goal by Netanyahu.
