WESTERN SAHARA WATERS NOT BELONG TO MOROCCO
The Spanish President, Pedro Sánchez, seems to be unaware that the waters of Western Sahara, like the territory, do not belong to Morocco. The European Parliament voted against the Morocco-EU fisheries agreement and the European Court of Justice has it in its portfolio. It is true that those who suffer are the Galician, Canarian and Andalusian fishermen. But international law has to be respected, even if it is harsh. The former Spanish colony is a non-autonomous territory according to the UN and the Saharawi people must be asked what they want to be. Morocco says that this is no longer to proceed because they are "provinces of the south". False and false! The UN maintains the territory within the framework of decolonization. Yesterday the Polisario met with the Canarian fishermen. Of course, Morocco will intervene militarily to prevent the Canaries from fishing with Polisairo licences. But this will once again expose the farce of the Moroccan Sahara that Pedro Sánchez has assumed without consulting anyone. It is to be hoped and hoped that on 23-J (July 23 -general elections) all this will come to pass. It is the desire of a majority of voters.
