SYRIA CONTINUES NORMALIZATION OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Syria continues with the process of normalization of its international relations, opened with its return to the Arab League as a full member. The last step was the trip to Beijing of the president, Bashar al-Assad, iwhere he met with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
This visit is marked, in particular, with the relaunch of economic relations with the Asian giant; while at the political level, Beijing upholds the territorial integrity of Syria.

Long-standing friendship relations have linked Syria and China over decades, based on a long legacy of common principles related to consecrating truth, justice, and balance in international relations, supporting just causes and pursuing security, stability, and development, says SANA news agency .
Trade exchange between the two countries began hundreds of years ago, as the ancient Silk Road reached Damascus and Palmyra, while the two countries established diplomatic relations that were officially announced on August 1, 1956.
