THE WAR OF HUNGER
The war in Gaza is a horror that cries out to the conscience of human beings. One of its most miserable aspects is the hunger suffered by the population due to the blockade of humanitarian aid that Israel maintains in the Palestinian enclave. The Jewish forces only allow aid to enter in quantities smaller than the needs of the population.
Civilians die in bombings and shooting from “Markava” armored cars, but they can also die from these attacks while waiting in line to receive some rice or some bread.
It is the war of hunger imposed by Netanyahu and his genocidal government. There is no reason to deprive women and children of a little food. In Gaza people die from bombs and also from hunger.
A meeting of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia began this Friday in Paris, with a delegation led by those responsible for the secret services of the Jewish state.
The negotiations focus on what Gaza will be like when the war ends. And in this framework, Netanyahu maintains that it will not be the Palestinians who govern the enclave, violating United Nations resolutions and the position of the entire world. Gaza is Palestine and it is its citizens who must lead it.
Hamas said on Saturday morning that Israeli forces had launched more than 70 strikes on civilian homes in Deir Al-Balah, Khan Yunis and Rafah among other locations over the previous 24 hours. The health ministry said at least 100 people were killed.
The American security advisor, John Kirby, affirms that the negotiations taking place in Paris “are going well,” although he refuses to predict whether a pause may take place before the month of Ramadan begins in March.
Meanwhile, Egypt's economy is also suffering the consequences of the war. International tourism and profits from transit in the Suez Canal have decreased. In 2022 and part of last year, Egypt obtained profits from the canal of more than $9 billion, but this year it is feared that this figure will be lower than expected.
