AN ANNOUNCED SECOND TERM WITH UNKNOWNS

Donald Trump's victory on "Super Tuesday" portends his nearness to returning to the White House next November. A possibility that had been very difficult due to his problems in legal instances, but which has had the support of the Supreme Court in the case of the state of Colorado.

Will it be good news to have Trump in power for another four years? We cannot respond favorably if we analyze what his first mandate was. One of the big problems was and continues to be his almost complete ignorance of the keys to international politics, although it must be taken into account that what matters to Americans above all is “First America.”

There were at least three big mistakes made by Trump during his presidency. The first of them was to appoint as security advisor the extremist, John Bolton, a supporter of war as a solution to all the problems in the external environment. He finally deposed him, transforming him from a submissive ally into one of his worst enemies.

The second mistake, although it could be the first, was to concede to the Arab countries no matter what objective and at any cost, as long as they diplomatically recognized Israel. It must be admitted that the idea had good meaning and a better future, but red lines were crossed, such as recognizing that Western Sahara belongs to Morocco, in violation of international laws and the position of the United Nations.

Fortunately, in that same context, Trump failed to force Saudi Arabia to establish relations with Israel. If this had happened, its devastating effect on the Arab and Muslim world would have led to enormous chaos, both in the Middle East, Asia and other regions.

Fortunately, in recent days, Riyadh has made it clear that the Jewish state will not be recognized as long as there is no independent Palestinian state, with its capital in the eastern part of Jerusalem.

The third mistake, although it may seem minor, which is contrary to reality, was and continues to be Trump's conviction that Vladimir Putin is a character, a quasi-friend, with whom he can easily get along, ergo a friend. from America.

It is true that in the first instance he was interested in the support of the Russian dictator to build a second "Rump Tower" in Moscow, in addition to other trifles, but he acted with a naivety that the guest of the White House cannot afford.

It is evident that Benjamin Netanyahu, accused of genocide by South Africa, Brazil and other Latin American countries, must be placing Menoras (Jewish seven-branched candelabras) everywhere so that Trump is re-elected. He not in vain considers him “Israel's greatest friend of all time”, much more than Joe Biden, of course.

At the internal level, it must be recognized that Trump has emerged victorious in his plan to turn the Grand Old Republican Party (GOP) from top to bottom, taking it into his service and throwing into the trash the criticism that the events of the January 6, 2021, with the invasion of the Capitol. And it will not be the “Trumpist” senator, Ted Cruz, who will say otherwise.

Let's hope, at least, that the real estate giant does not force the Murdoch family to readmit Tucker Carlson to Fox News, credited with an "excellent" interview with Putin, according to Trump's friend.
