THE NETANYAHU MYSTERY
What kind of man is Benjamin Netanyahu? The Israeli Prime Minister repeats over and over again that they attacked Rafah without concern for Palestinian civilian victims, and despite the fact that the US has repeated that it does not support this military operation.
This Wednesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken once again indicated that Washington will not support the assault on Rafah without a humanitarian plan. Netanyahu is not interested in accepting such a plan, although he lies and claims that he has asked the armed forces to prepare it and put it into action.
But the evacuation of the 1.1 million Palestinian refugees in Rafah is the least of the concerns of Netanyahu and his allies, Yael Gallant, Ben Gvir and others. Therefore, when Netanyahu is called a war criminal and the perpetrator of genocide, we are not doing anti-Semitism. We are telling the pure and simple truth.
In that sense, the decision that Turkey has made to associate with South Africa to sustain the accusation of genocide before the international court of justice (ICJ) is important. Brazil also supports it.
We find ourselves in a totally chaotic situation. Netanyahu is going to attack Rafah against the position of the United States. The Israeli prime minister is preparing to mock the president, Joe Biden, and the entire world.
Thus, it will be totally new for Israel to oppose the United States. Unfortunately, Netanyahu is going to do it because he is sure that Biden and Blinken will not go beyond regretting it, while thousands of university students across the United States are calling for contacts to be broken with the Jewish state.
Under a democratic cloak, Netanyahu violates international laws and humanitarian law. He laughs at the decisions of the United Nations Security Council and is not in the least concerned that children and women continue to die in the bombings, and some even die of hunger, given that Israel does not allow aid to enter Gaza in the quantities that would be needed by the population.
And perhaps the worst thing about this scenario is that the people held by Hamas are still prisoners after the terrorist attack it committed on October 7. The world is anxiously waiting for an agreement to be reached for a humanitarian pause that will allow the release of the hostages.
