NETANYAHU BLOCKS BIDEN'S PEACE PLAN

Relations between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Joe Biden are currently experiencing increased tension, both personally and politically, after the Hebrew leader has publicly declared that he does not support the peace plan of the White House.

Biden has said it with complete clarity when accusing Netanyahu of blocking the peace plan “for political reasons,” adding that “what he wants is to prolong the war. Asked whether he thought Netanyahu was prolonging the war for his own political reasons, Biden said: “There is every reason for people to draw that conclusion.”

It is evident that Netanyahu is a Syrian case study. On the one hand he says that he cares about the Jewish hostages, but on the other hand he acts as if he doesn't care at all. Biden thus finds himself with a politician who wants war above all, and that peace is not his first objective.

It is the first time that the White House has encountered an unpredictable ally that rejects suggestions made in Washington. That Netanyahu and his ministers refuse to accept a ceasefire, even for six weeks, has unleashed Biden's fury although he makes an effort to ensure that he does not appear publicly too much.

At least 36,586 Palestinians have been killed and 83,074 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, its Health Ministry says. The ministry added that 36 people were killed and 115 injured in the latest 24-hour reporting period. It is evident that Hamas has been weakened during these eight months of war and has the need to accept the American president's plan.

But the problem also lies in the fact that Netanyahu is convinced that he will put an end to Hamas in a few months, while Jewish analysts themselves do not believe it. It has even been seen that the extremists of the Al Qasam brigades have re-emerged in places where Israel claimed “that they had been completely cleared of terrorists.”

On the other hand, no one knows how many hostages are still alive, Israel believes there are about 120, but this figure would not take into account all those who have died for various reasons. The figure closest to reality would be between 100 to 110 prisoners.

Netanyahu is in favor of an endless war and it would be very good for him if Donald Trump won the elections because the real estate magnate is committed to the Jewish leaders up to his neck. Biden, on the other hand, continues to send weapons to Tel Aviv, but at least suggests that the problem is Netanyahu.
