ISRAEL WILL NOT ACCEPT A PERMANENT CEASEFIRE

The Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu, reiterated this weekend that he does not rule out a partial ceasefire, but in no case a permanent one "because we want the war to continue."

It is the classic rhetoric of a man who has accumulated war crimes since October 8, when Israel responded to the terrorist attack committed by “Hamas” in Jewish territory, with more than 1,250 victims, who were attending a music festival. and they were surprised by the commandos of the “Al Qassem” brigades, dependent on the movement led politically by Ismael Haniyeh.

Netanyahu has not changed his position since he stated that his main objective was to eliminate “Hamas” from the face of the earth, without taking into account that the radical Palestinian movement is, above all, an ideology that cannot be eradicated.

Regarding the hostages, who are possibly close to a hundred still alive and in the hands of Hamas, Netanyahu has said that he wants them alive, but maintains that the priority is to eliminate "the terrorists."

In Israel, the mobilizations of the families of the captives continue, along with several thousand other Jews, who demand elections to remove Netanyahu from the government and consider that he is not doing enough to free the hostages through the peace plan presented by the president of the US, Joe Biden.

Hamas has said it is in favor of that plan, while Netanyahu reiterates that there may be a humanitarian pause to free the captives, but by no means a permanent ceasefire that would end the war.

There are contradictions between Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yal Gallant, on the one hand; and the senior officers of the armed forces, on the other. At the same time, the prime minister opposes those in favor of Palestinians ruling the enclave, since he insists that Israel take control of Gaza, despite the fact that this represents another violation of international law.

Likewise, the personal relations between Biden and Natanyahu are not on the right track. The American president supports a ceasefire and the partial withdrawal of the Israeli military, initially. Netanyahu is not willing to accept the content of the American plan, because he understands, without reason, that this would be “rewarding terrorism.”
