ATTACKS FROM IRAN ON ISRAEL “IN A FEW DAYS”


The United States estimates that retaliation against Israel for the assassinations of Palestinian and Lebanese leaders “will occur in a few days,” White House Security Secretary John Kirby said this Sunday. Tehran, for its part, has recalled that it has the right to attack the Jewish state in response to its attacks in the capitals of the Islamic republic and in the capital of Lebanon.


Theoretically, peace negotiations in Gaza are scheduled for this Thursday, but they will be suspended if aggression occurs, fully justified according to UN principles. The United States has deployed a nuclear aircraft carrier in the Middle Eastern region; its escort group and, since yesterday, a nuclear submarine that has the atomic weapon.


The president, Joe Biden, is under pressure from his allies and advisors. On the one hand he must ensure that Israel will be defended; and on the other hand he recognizes that reprisals against the Jewish state are justified. Israel was the aggressor country, and Iran and Hezbollah suffered losses of senior leaders.


The Jewish Prime Minister, Netanyahu, is the one who has opened Pandora's box, which could lead to a regional conflict with very dangerous consequences. Western countries have appealed to Iran to renounce retaliation, thereby de-escalating the current regional tension. But those countries should have warned Israel not to carry out the assassinations, but they did not.


That is, the USA; Great Britain; France; Germany and other countries did not lift a finger when Israel attacked Iran; and now they are putting pressure on the latter country so that an escalation does not occur. Curious way of proceeding from the West. In addition, Israeli forces continue to launch missiles and bombs against schools and hospitals in Gaza. On Monday, 16 Palestinians lost their lives in one of their attacks, in the town of Khan Yunis.


This Tuesday, Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas meets in Moscow with Vladimir Putin to ask for political support and denounce the “total submission” of the White House to Israel. Putin considers that in the Gaza war, Israel has crossed several “red lines.”


Israel has never responded proportionally to the aggressions of radical Palestinian groups. It is the line that Netanyahu defends: War without limits.
