ISRAEL AT “WAR” AGAINST THE UNITED NATIONS
Israel has taken a new step in its attacks against the UN, which it accuses of bias, by announcing that it is banning the agency dedicated to providing aid to the inhabitants of Gaza from acting, raising fears of a famine that would cause a significant number of victims, particularly women and children.
On Monday, November 4, Israel officially announced the cancellation of the agreement with UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, following the vote by the Israeli Parliament, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This choice marks a new step in the escalation of tensions between Israel and the United Nations (UN).
Many voices accuse Israel of having repeatedly violated UN resolutions and treaties, including the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. Some UN officials have also accused Israel and Hamas of committing war crimes.
In addition, some 230 UN personnel have been killed during the Israeli offensive, and many voices claim that Israel deliberately targeted UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
